Boy King, The, a play about India for children of all nations, 1964

Biographical Sketch

Henry Scholberg, who spent the greater part of his career in the academic sphere of South Asia, was moved to investigate a curiosity: the numerous French names which dot the map of Scandinavian Minnesota: Duluth, Le Sueur, Faribault, Lac Qui Parle, Gentilly, Voyageur State Park. The French Pioneers of Minnesota is the result of his efforts to satisfy his curiosity. Scholberg was formerly (from 1961 to 1986) director of the Ames Library of South Asia at the University of Minnesota. His publications include: The District Gazetteers of British India: a Bibliography, Bibliographie des Francais dans l'Inde, Bibliography of Goa and the Portuguese in India, the Encyclopedias of India, the Indian Literature of the great Rebellion. Scholberg was born in India of Methodist Missionary parents. He graduated from Woodstock High School, Mussoorie, U.P., India, and has bachelor degrees from the Universities of Illinois and Minnesota and an M.A. in Library Science from the U of M.
