Biographical Sketch

Eva Le Gallienne was born January 11, 1899, in London, England. She attended College Sevigne, Paris, France, 1907-14, and Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London, England, 1914. She had a career and an actress and director, receiving numerous awards. Her writing career included adaptation of plays, translation of titles, and author of two memoirs. She contributed articles and reviews to numerous periodicals. In 1986, Ronald Reagan presented her with the National Medal of Arts. She died June 3, 1991 at Westom, CT.
