Phyllis Busch was born in 1909 in New York, New York. She graduated from Hunter College in 1931 with a BA. She graduated from New York University in 1959 with an MA and an EdD. She taught science from 1931 - 1958 at all levels. She was a professor of science education 1959 - 1962. Thereafter she was a freelance teacher, consutant and lecturer in environmental education. She also wrote several children's books.
