Biographical Sketch of Glen Dines

Author and illustrator Harry Glen Dines was born in 1925 in Casper, Wyoming. During World War II he served in the military, working as a staff artist for Stars and Stripes . He attended the University of Washington; Art Center School, Los Angeles; and Sacramento State College. He married Ruth Goldberg in 1954 and had two children, Lisa and Woody. Dines died in 1995.

Collection Scope and Content Note

The Glen Dines papers contains sketches, color separations, and paste-ups for two titles, Bull Wagon and Mountain Men , as well as a papier-mâché tiger Dines created to model for his illustrations in A Tiger in the Cherry Tree .
