Harry Kullman was born February 22, 1919, in Malmo, Sweden, and died
March, 1982, in Stockholm. He began his career as an advertising copywriter in
1946, and took to free-lance writing in 1965, writing in Swedish. Feelings of
shame about his working class background drove him to begin night school in an
effort to better his position in life. Much of his written for young people is
set in working class settings.
