Biographical Sketch

Vera Bock was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, where her father, an American business man, had settled. Her mother was Russian and a well-known pianist in the musical world of St. Petersburg. At the time of the revolution her family left Russia and returned to this country via Siberia, China, Japan and the Pacific. While Vera Bock considered America her home, she has lived and studied in Switzerland and England and retains vivid memories of Russia.
