Abstract:
Collection contains records from Noel T. Stone's employment with Sperry Rand and Control Data Corporation. Sperry records include a Univac project list from 1957 and a research priorities document from 1959. Control Data records include monthly progress reports, minutes from the regional managers meetings, and shareholder information. Also in the collection is shareholder information from Information Electronics Limited of Australia.

Biographical Note

Noel T. Stone graduated from the University of Minnesota in electrical engineering in 1942. After army service from 1942-1946, Stone worked for Minneapolis-Honeywell Regulator Company. In 1947 he joined Engineering Research Associates, then worked as chief Engineer for Remington Rand, later Sperry Rand. In 1962 he joined Control Data Corporation in the Computer Division. He later was on the Board of Directors of Cray Research.


Collection Scope and Content Note

This collection contains records from Sperry Rand and Control Data Corporation created during Noel Stone's employment with the companies. The Sperry records include a Univac project list of 1957, and a research prioritization document of 1959. The Control Data records include monthly progress reports, 1966-1967, minutes of the regional managers meetings, 1966-1967, and shareholder information, 1957-1973. Also in the collection is a small miscellaneous series containing shareholder information from Information Electronics Limited of Australia, 1968-1975, and a Data Systems Corporation letter.
