Historical Note

The Churchill Club, a non-profit public affairs forum based in Palo Alto, California, held its first meeting in November 1985. The club regularly holds events focusing on topics of interest to the Silicon Valley high-tech community and featuring Silicon Valley CEOs, state and national legislators, industry executives, and national business leaders.


Collection Scope and Content Note

The collection contains audio tape recordings of interviews, lectures, and seminars arranged or conducted by the Churchill Club. Interviewees, panel members, and moderators are prominent individuals in the field of computing and information science, many of them local to the Silicon Valley. Topics discussed in the interviews include: technology company stock values, internet commerce, computer industry and the United States Government regulation, and new technology. Some companies discussed include: Intel, Hewlett-Packard Company, Microsoft Corporation, and Apple Company. No transcripts of the tapes are available.
