A lawyer, Yakiv Maksymovych Zozula (b.1893) was born in Lebedyn, Ukraine. After serving in the Russian Army (1911-1913) and in various government posts, he came to the United States following World War II. He taught at the Ukrainian Tech. Institute (New York, N.Y.), remained active in Ukrainian American and profession affairs, and wrote numerous articles.
Collection Scope and Content Note
Papers (ca. 1964) of Yakiv Maksymovych Zozula (b. 1893) include stamps of the Fond Ukraïnsk'koï Politekhniky and a typescript of his paper entitled "Dr. Mykhailo Briashchaiko Na Soimi Karpats'koï Ukraïny". The typescript paper commemorates the 25th anniversary of Carpatho-Ukraine, especially remembering March 15, 1939 at the Soin (parliament) of Carpatho-Ukraine and Dr. Mykhailo Briashchaiko's participation.
