Biographical Sketch of Cledo Brunetti (1910-1971)
Cledo Brunetti was born on April 1, 1910 in Virginia, Minnesota. He
earned his B.E.E. in 1932 and Ph.D. in 1937 from the University of Minnesota.
His Ph.D. was the first earned in the field of engineering from the University
of Minnesota. After completing his Ph.D., Dr. Brunetti was an instructor and
assistant professor at Lehigh University (Bethlehem, PA; 1937-1941), lecturer
at George Washington University (1941-1942), consultant for the Office of
Scientific Research and Development (1942-1946), researcher and chief of the
National Bureau of Standards electrical engineering section (1941-1949),
associate director of the Stanford Research Institute (1949-1953) and director
of engineering research and development at General Mills. Cledo Brunetti died
