Abstract:

The Mars Papers focus on his work as an illustrator of children's and adult books. The collection includes production materials for 35 titles as well as material for titles not verified as published, and miscellaneous unidentified art work and illustrative material. The collection contains illustrations done in a variety of media, particularly ink and pencil, studies, proofs, photocopies, clippings of illustrations from books, some advertising illustrations, and one piece of correspondence.
