Darling, Lois	Title: Lois Darling Papers Extent: 23 folders 1.4 linear ft, manuscripts and other material 10.5 cubic ft. illustrative and related material Abstract: The Lois Darling collection is comprised of work she did alone and with her husband, Louis Darling. When working together, the Darlings focused on natural history and environmental topics presented in a relatively simple text but with highly accurate and detailed scientific drawings. The collection contains production materials for 8 titles by Lois alone and materials for another 11 titles worked on by both husband and wife. A substantial portion of the collection is comprised of studies and rejected drawings for many titles.
Darling, Louis	Title: Louis Darling Papers Extent: 21 boxes, 4 folders totalling 0.3 linear ft. for the manuscript and non-illustrative material; 11 cubic ft. of illustrative material. Abstract: Louis Darling's papers focus on his work as an illustrator and author of children''s books, with an emphasis on illustrations. The collection contains production material for 37 titles published between 1946-70; including one title, Exploring Science, jointly illustrated by Louis Darling and I. N. Steinberg. The collection includes illustrations done in a variety of media, some with separations, prints, studies, and sketches done in various media, dummies, paste-ups, proofs, photostats, layouts, photographs, and ink lettering, color and type samples, book jackets, miscellaneous separations, and 1 miscellaneous drawing. There is a small amount of manuscript material, mostly for one title, Greenhead. This material includes a holograph, corrected typescript and galley proof, contracts, and a few pieces of correspondence and notes, including some from Lois Darling, Louis Darling's wife.

Davis, Alice Taylor, 1903-	Title: Alice Taylor Davis papers Extent: 28 linear feet Abstract: Alice Taylor Davis was known for her contributions to social work education and commitment improving social service. The Alice Taylor Davis papers reflect her career in social work education, consultation, and on the staff of the U.S. Department of Health Education and Welfare, Technical Training Division. They also relate to her work as co-director of the Study of Social Work Education, which culminated in the report, Social Work Education in the United States (1952) and was a factor in the formation of the Council on Social Work Education.

Davis between 1966 and 1977. These photographs feature entire data processing system model photographs, computer system components and subsystem photographs, and circuit photographs, all from various companies (Burroughs, UNIVAC, Honeywell, Mohawk, IBM, and CDC, for example). Some of these photographs were used in books by Davis.
