Abstract: Maia Wojciechowska's papers focus on her work as an author of children's and young adult fiction. The collection contains production material for thirteen titles published between 1964 and 1984. Production material includes corrected typescripts, notes, front matter, page and galley proofs, reviews and correspondence, as well as material for screenplay versions of some of Maia Wojciechowska's works written by her. The collection also contains a substantial amount of production material for unpublished and/or unverified titles, essays, reviews, translations mostly from Polish,and miscellaneous material including memorabilia, ephemera, royalty statements, material related to her receipt of the 1965 Newbery Award, and autobiographical and biographical material. The collection also contains a substantial amount of correspondence to and from Maia Wojciechowska, and some of this and the other miscellaneous material is in Polish. There is also some material that appears to have been written by Oriana Rodman, Maia Wojciechowska's daughter,and others.
